If you haven’t noticed yet I have added a new item in the right sidebar called Skribit. Skribit essentially is a blog topic suggestion application developed by Paul Stamatiou. Paul is a recent graduate of Georgia Tech and is now working on Skribit full time. If you haven’t checked out his blog yet, I’d definitely suggest reading it. Plenty of good inspiration and great posts over there.

I hope to use Skribit as a way to communicate with my readers directly about the topics I write about. I mostly plan on writing tutorials about using CSS and Ruby on Rails to develop web applications and with Skribit now all of my readers will be able to suggest topics for me to write about.Stats about individual posts on my site are great, but I still think that using a method of user suggestion will allow me to write content that more people want to read. I will also place topic suggestions of my own on Skribit and put more focus on topics that are voted on the most. With that said I am going to continue focusing on writing more great tutorials and resource lists. Thanks for reading.

I have finally dropped my horrid GoDaddy.com hosting and am now proud to be on Media Temple. Having this new host will finally allow me to deploy some of the web projects I’ve been working on.

Also, I have upgraded to WordPress 2.7 and everything should be running smooth. If you notice anything at all please leave a comment to let me know. Also, I have set my server to automatically back itself up to Amazon S3 daily at midnight using a bash shell script and a Cron job. If you are interested in this please check out the great post from Brendan Nee. One issue I had: I had to remove the double quotes used for the location of the key file in order to get s3-bash to recognize the file existed.

Happy new year again!

So apparently this year was a second longer than last year because there are just over 365 days in a year. I wanted to take this time to just wish everybody that follows me on twitter a happy new year and to expect much more frequent posts from me this year(as it is one of my new year resolutions). I will be writing some articles about ruby on rails and my recent experiences soon. I hopefully will also be launching a web application my friend and I have been writing sometime this spring. More details to follow shortly on that.

As far as everything else goes, I’m headed back to Pittsburgh in a few days for my spring semester where I will be focusing pretty much full time on computer science now.

Anyways, I will be updating to wordpress 2.7 later today(when I wake up) and hopefully that will go smoothly.
